Chinese equities closed lower on Tuesday morning with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.22 percent, or 6.57 points to end at 2,960.44 in the morning session.
The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.68 percent, or 81.33 points to close at 12,126. 54.
The combined turnover was 111.12 billion yuan.
