Chinese companies that bribed Rio Tinto named

20 Chinese steel companies that offered bribes to Rio Tinto employees Stern Hu, Wang Yong, Ge Minqiang and Liu Caikui have been named, following an investigation by the National Business Daily.

The 20 companies are: China National Building Materials & Equipment Import & Export Corporation, Sinochem International, Hebei Jingye Steel Co., Ltd, Qian'an Roll No. 1 Group, Tangshan Guofeng Steel Co., Ltd, Rizhao Steel Co., Ltd, Rockcheck Steel Group Co., Ltd, Shandong Wanbao Group, Shanxi Antai Group, Shandong Guangfu Group Co., Ltd, Shanxi Qincheng Steel Holding Group Co., Ltd, Shandong Chuanyang Group Co., Ltd, Anyang Baotaiying Group Co., Ltd, Shanxi Jianbang Group, Hong Kong Pan Asia Minerals Corporation, Shandong Huaxin Industry Co., Ltd, Rizhao Zhongrui Native Produce Co., Ltd, Hebei Puyang Steel Co., Ltd, Falcon Resources (Shanghai) Ltd and Noble Resources Ltd, Hong Kong.

The four Rio Tinto employees, who were convicted and sentenced to jail terms last week by a court in Shanghai, received the bribes via bogus commission agents.
