China's equities open higher on Wall Street rallies

Chinese equities opened higher Wednesday, as the U.S. stock market gained Tuesday on better-than-expected corporate profits.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.24 percent to open at 2,456.1 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.12 percent to open at 9,813.31.

The Dow Jones industrial average rallied 146.75 points, or 1.44 percent, to 10,363.02. The Standard & Poor's 500 index jumped 16. 59 points, or 1.54 percent, to 1,095.34 while the Nasdaq soared 43. 67 points, or 1.99 percent, to 2,242.03.
