Workers went on strike Wednesday at a south China factory owned by Japanese firm Omron which supplies Honda, Toyota vehicles with electronic components, demanding for higher pays, local sources said.

An undetermined number of workers of Omron (Guangzhou) Automobile Electronics Co. ltd, walked off from work in their factory located in southern Chinese city of Guangzhou to press the company to raise their monthly salary from 1,300 yuan (about 191 U.S. dollars) to 1,800 yuan.
