Shenzhen Airlines, a subsidiary of China's largest carrier, Air China, signed a deal with Airbus on Wednesday to buy 10 Airbus A-320 jets.

The new aircraft will be delivered in 2012 and 2013, Shenzhen Airlines said in a statement, adding that the new jets are expected to improve the company's Airbus flagship structure, and reduce its aircraft maintenance costs.

Shenzhen Airlines has 38 Airbus jets out of its total 109 airplanes at present. By the end of 2013, its Airbus fleet will increase to 64 if the ordered jets, including 16 A-320 jets for the second half of 2010 and for 2011, arrive on time.

The company said it aimed to expand its total jet fleet to 180 by the end of 2015. Sales revenue is expected to reach 30 billion yuan (4.41 billion U.S. dollars) by then.
