China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 2,983.53 Thursday, down 20.42 points, or 0.68 percent, from the previous close.

A Share Index: 3,126.34 points, down 21.6 points, or 0.69 percent

B Share Index: 280.48 points, up 1.79 points, or 0.64 percent

Total Turnover: 208.3 billion yuan (31.2 billion U.S. dollars).
