Dell is projected to spend $25 billion in China this year, and if it maintains its current rate of spending it could reach $250 billion over 10 years, said Amit Midha, Dell's president for Greater China on Tuesday at the Reuters China Investment Summit in Beijing, Reuters reported.

"China, all of a sudden, is starting to become the centerpiece for us," Midha said.

Midha added that the company will seek business opportunities in China's large enterprises and small cities. It plans to build 800 service centers in the country's fourth-to-six tier cities by the end of 2011.

The company will launch its 10-inch tablet PC on the global market next spring. This new product is bound to enter the Chinese market, but a detailed timetable hasn't been released.

China's business press carried the story above on Thursday. China.org.cn has not checked the stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
