HKEx starts to extend trading hours

According to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), the trading sessions of HKEx's securities market will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 p. m. to 4 p.m. from Monday.

Previous to March 7, investors trade from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Trading in HKEx's derivatives markets and the auction sessions of the securities and derivatives markets will also start earlier.

HKEx conducted a series of market simulation sessions in February to help exchange participants and information vendors in verifying their readiness for the extension of trading hours, and the results were positive.
