The Ministry of Finance said Wednesday that it will sell 30 billion yuan (4.64 billion U.S. dollars) worth of book-entry treasury bonds this week.

The 30-year bonds have a fixed annual interest rate of 4.5 percent, the ministry said in a statement on its website.

The bonds will be sold from Thursday to next Monday and become tradable on exchange markets starting next Wednesday, the statement said.

Interest on the bonds will be paid semiannually while the principal will be returned upon maturity on June 23, 2041, it added.

According to the statement, the bonds will be the ministry's 16th issue of book-entry treasury bonds this year.
