Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met with Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi in Beijing on Thursday, expressing appreciation of the company's increase of investment in China.

Wang said the economies of China and the United States are mutually dependent, and cannot manage without each other. The two countries should cement understanding and cooperation so as to achieve mutual benefits.

Calling enterprises major players of markets, Wang said the two governments should provide favorable environments for cooperation among enterprises.

Indra Nooyi said PepsiCo is confident about its business in China, and is ready to further expand investment in China.

Last year, PepsiCo announced to invest 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in China over the coming three years. The U.S. food and beverage giant currently owns 27 plants and five farms across China.
