China International Capital Corp. forecast June food prices increased by 0.4 percent to 0.6 percent from May, with prices of other products remaining relatively stable.



4. Report: China's inflation rate may reach 6.2% in June

China's consumer price index, a key gauge of inflation, may have risen by 6.2 percent in June on higher food prices, China's largest investment bank said in a report released Monday. China International Capital Corp. forecast June food prices increased by 0.4 percent to 0.6 percent from May, with prices of other products remaining relatively stable. CICC said the central bank may raise the benchmark interest rate over the next few weeks. The National Bureau of Statistics will release official June inflation data on July 15.
