American nutritional supplement maker NBTY launched Disney-branded children's dietary supplements in China at a conference in Beijing on Monday.

The newly launched products feature authorized Disney cartoon characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Lightning McQueen and Nemo the Clownfish. According to NBTY, the products are designed for toddlers 2 years old and up, and contain 12 key vitamins, minerals and DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid associated with brain function.

The supplements come in the form of fruit-flavored soft candies. It is said that no artificial colors, sweeteners or preservatives are added.

Xia Junbo, NBTY China's general manger, expects the combination of NBTY's credibility and Disney's brand power will make the product a success in the China market.

"These Disney-branded products have special advantages in China,"Xia said. "First, they use highly-recognized cartoon images, which attract the consumers visually. Second, NBTY has been widely acknowledged as a professional dietary supplements brand in China, and it can meet consumers' safety and nutritional demands for kids' products."
