Chinese shares opened mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.01 percent, or 0.31 point, to open at 2,266.08.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 9,119.88, up 0.05 percent, or 4.61 points.
