PARKnSHOP and Wellcome, the two largest supermarket chains in Hong Kong have stopped selling milk products from domestic dairy giants Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd., both headquartered in Inner Mongolia, Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.

A Weibo user wrote in a microblog post that he couldn't find any Mengniu or Yili products in either PARKnSHOP or Wellcome during his visit to Hong Kong.

Employees at both supermarkets confirmed that they have stopped selling Mengniu and Yili dairy products, but are unclear as to the reason why. A Wellcom employee surnamed Wang said that his company discontinued the sale of Mengniu and Yili products a year ago.

PARKnSHOP and Wellcome mainly sell imported and local Hong Kong dairy products.
