Chinese stocks edged down at the midday on Thursday, following losses on the Wall Street overnight.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.14 percent to 2,377.57 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed the morning session at 10,005.05 points, down 0.64 percent.
Wall Street fell Wednesday over worries about Europe's debt crisis and the global economic growth. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 0.6 percent to 13,032.75. The Standard & Poor's 500 fell 0.4 percent to 1,385.14. The Nasdaq composite index fell 0.4 percent to 3,031.45.
