Tang runs China's largest women's footwear retailer, Belle International. Due to the increase in the value of the stocks he holds, his wealth doubled last year. The sales of its flagship brand Belle and other brands including Teenmix, Staccato and Joy & Peace, account for 55 percent of the market share at present, higher than last year's 52 percent.

Tang began his traineeship career in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he started his own small factory. In the early 1970s, he set up a shoe store. After 20 years' development, his business spread all around China. The brand of Belle came into being in Hong Kong in 1979. On May 23, 2007, Belle International was listed in Hong Kong. In 2011, Tang's assets reached US$four billion, making himself the 281st richest on the Forbes Global List, and ninth in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
