Multinational companies are willing to locate their Asia-Pacific headquarters to Shanghai's pilot free trade zone to take advantage of trade and financial innovation, the zone's management committee said Friday.
The first batch of 20 companies in the FTZ has set up their Asia-Pacific headquarters or operational centers under a program launched last year that aims to build the zone into an Asia-Pacific operations hub in three years.
Under the program, eligible enterprises based in the zone will be turned into regional operational headquarters responsible for business activities including sales, logistics and capital settlement in the Asia-Pacific region.
The committee said it will unveil measures to facilitate trade and improve capital settlement process in the zone based on the needs of companies as it strives to be more service-oriented.
