Abstract

Media can enhance regional integration, and at the same time the media economy is part of the regional economy. Since 2004, Xinjiang Television Station has begun to implement a campaign of "going out", which can be boosted greatly by the strategic concept of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Since 2013, Xinjiang Television Station has begun cross-border coverage titled New Life of the Silk Road according to agreements signed with national television stations of Central Asian countries. This series of activities has built a bridge for communication and cultural exchange between China and Central and Western Asia, and laid a good foundation for Xinjiang Television Station to become top regional media outlet with credibility and influence.
