Abstract

China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) is China's largest construction enterprise. Its business includes project contracting, survey and design, logistics trade, industrial manufacturing, real estate development, mineral resources, finance and insurance, franchise and so on. The company ranked 100th on the list of the Fortune 500 companies in 2013, and 11th on China's top 500 companies. It tops ENR's list of top 250 global contractors. As the world grows multi-polar and economic globalization deepens, the interaction and integration among countries and regions are irreversible and interconnected. The construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt will further enhance the connection among economic entities in the region, promote regional development, prosperity and stability, and also help ensure national political and economic security. The CRCC is dedicated to helping the rapid development of the Silk Road Economic Belt with its transportation construction. The company has organized several technical teams to conduct field study, and put forward a project plan for the core channel construction there, which is composed of seven core railway channels, five regional railway channels and ten regional ports. The company also actively participates in the infrastructure construction of countries along the belt and helps many of them finish their road network plan. The construction of core channels involves numerous countries and regions and entails large investment, extended routes and arduous construction and collaboration. Therefore, countries along the belt should enhance their coordination and utilize local resources to actively expand the financing channels; they should also co-build an efficient international operation and maintenance platform. As long as we enhance communication and make dedicated efforts, we will embrace prosperous, peaceful, and stable future.
