News media shoulders a cultural responsibility and a role in fostering public opinion, thus it is its innate mission to provide support to the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt. The media should not only provide theoretical support but also play some practical role, especially in promoting different cultures to draw on each other's strength in their interaction, and facilitate the re-emergence of an inclusive and mutual beneficial outlook on cooperation in the current construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, by means of cross culture communication. Building the Silk Road Economic Belt provides an extraordinary historic opportunity and cooperation space for media support. Media outlets in the nations and regions along the Silk Road should make full use of their advantages, make proactive efforts, and reform their working manners, in order to build a new mechanism for cooperation. The mechanism includes expanding the exchange and communication between media outlets, building an inter-media cooperation mechanism, making extensive use of modern communication tools to expand exchange and cooperation, and nurturing a cooperating team. The specific measures are as follows: Media outlets should ramp up their abilities in reporting and editing, and enhance public recognition; organize cross-border interviews, studies and research, visits, exchanges of personnel, and seminars to promote mutual trust and consensus; exchange columns, news articles, programs and so on to deepen the cooperation between various media outlets. Media outlets should enhance their interaction and support to complement each other's advantages, and realize mutual benefit, cooperation and common development.
