The event, entitled "Creating Value through Innovation", will bring together more than 1,700 participants from 110 countries to Tianjin, a new record, said Wang Hezhen, head of the host committee of the conference from the Tianjin Municipal Government.

Seven world leaders have confirmed their participation in the conference, including the presidents of Denmark and Mali. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will also give a speech at the opening ceremony.

The Summer Davos is supported directly by World Economic Forum, which is held in Davos, Switzerland every winter and mainly focuses on new champion communities, including global growth companies, young global leaders, young scientists, technology pioneers and social entrepreneurs.

This year, the key topics will be innovation, the development of science and technology and sustainable development. The forum will also discuss China's finance, digitization and health care so as to promote China's orderly development.

"It will be also a great opportunity to introduce Tianjin, help our companies to cooperate with world leading companies, and attract more foreign investment," said Wang.

International companies like General Electric, Unilever and Volkswagen have successfully established their factories in Tianjin through this conference, she added.

The conference has gained significant support from the city. The host committee has picked up 890 volunteers from more than 30,000 applicants. They will also choose eight citizen delegates from around 800 to air their voices at the forums.

The Summer Davos is a global business meeting that brings together participants from the government, media, academia and civil society as well as fast-growing young enterprises from all over the world.

Established in 2007, the conference is hosted by the Chinese cities Dalian and Tianjin every another year. Tianjin previously hosted the meeting in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
