The government of Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, is boosting the attractiveness of the city to investors by building large industrial parks, which now number four: Gaoxin, Xingang, Huagong and Jiangning.

Despite this, Nanjing's GDP is still behind that of other neighboring cities such as Suzhou, Wuxi and Hangzhou, which have an edge in attracting foreign investment and local innovation.
