Making a major upgrade in terms of aesthetics, Samsung has abandoned plastic design for its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

The world's leading smartphone maker unveiled the latest Galaxy S members at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. As it showed, the phones are made entirely of metal and glass.

Both phones feature an aluminum frame sandwiched between a glass front and back. The S6 has a flat display, while the S6 Edge has a curved display.

The phones are powered by Samsung's own Exynos 7420 processor, confirming rumors that Samsung has dropped Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip for its flagship phones.

Early users have filed positive feedback. Derek Scott, an author at Androidauthority.com, describes the S6 as "the most exciting Galaxy S to date".

The S6 will have four color options: white, black, gold and blue. The S6 Edge will be available in white, black, gold and green.

The phones will be available for purchase starting April 10. Samsung hasn't announced price details.
