The six overseas offices will be established, respectively, in the following six cities: The U.S. city of Los Angeles; London, England; Frankfurt, Germany; Gothenburg, Sweden; and the Japanese cities of Osaka and Tokyo.

The move aims at broadening the channel of publicizing and popularizing the FTZ, as well as strengthening communication with the rest of world in regards to the FTZ and promoting global trade cooperation.

Zhu Min, Deputy Director of the Shanghai FTZ administrative committee, says the overseas offices will bring investors precise policy interpretation without error.

With the help of the overseas offices, potential foreign investors will be able to get fast-accurate news about the FTZ, while opinions and analysis from international markets will be sent back from these overseas offices to the FTZ to better help its reform.

No more than 10 people will be hired to man each overseas office. This move aims to streamline administrative procedures at these offices.

In the meantime, the FTZ's administrative committee, as well as the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, will work to assist overseas staff to meet investor demands and improve the quality of service provided by these offices.
