Chinese companies will make use of the Chinese Pavilion at the Expo to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan to demonstrate the state-of-the-art technologies and social responsibilities they shoulder, Wang Jinzhen, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said to China.org.cn in an interview in Beijing on Tuesday.

A ceremony is hosted in Beijing on Mar. 28 to grant medals and certificates to enterprises that have entered into partnership with the Chinese Pavilion.

Wang, who is also national commissioner of the Chinese Pavilion at the expo, made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to grant medals and certificates to enterprises that have entered into partnership with the Chinese Pavilion.

Six companies have become official partners of the Chinese Pavilion. Among them, State Grid Corporation of China and China Energy Company Ltd won the title of the Official Partner. Petro China, AVIC Shanghai Aviation Electric Co. Ltd and Industrial Bank won the title of the Gold Medal Sponsor, while GCL Group won the title of the Supplier of Authorized Goods (Services).

Wang asserted that the success of the Chinese Pavilion will not happen without the support of Chinese enterprises and the expo will serve as a platform for people-to-people exchanges.

"GCL's concept of ‘bringing green energy to people's lives' dovetails nicely with the theme of Astana Expo 2017," Gu Qiang, vice president of GCL Group, told China.org.cn. “GCL will showcase its highly-efficient photovoltaic cell modules, multifunctional road lights for a smart city at the expo.”

He added GCL will use the expo as an international platform to forge cooperation with other countries especially on the Belt and Road initiative.

State Grid will present its ultrahigh pressure technology, PetroChina will showcase its technology in carbon capture storage and enhanced oil recovery, while Industrial Bank will display green finance.

Expo 2017 will run from June 10 to Sept. 10 in the Kazakhstan capital, whose theme is "future energy." This will be the first time that a Central Asian country hosts the Expo. A total of 115 countries and 18 international organizations have confirmed participation in the event.

Wang said that EXPO 2017 will take place in the year of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan-China diplomatic relations, the Year of Chinese Tourism in Kazakhstan and amidst the implantation of the large-scale Belt and Road initiative.

EXPO 2017 is promising to become the turning point in "green energy" development on an international level.

He added that China is the first country to receive and construct the pavilion, leading other countries in the construction work.

The Chinese Pavilion will cover an area of 1,000 square meters, and will include a lobby and areas called Energy Corridor, Wisdom and Practice of China, Energy Dream Theatre, Global Mission and Cooperation, as well as a reception hall.

Numerous events will be staged at the Chinese Pavilion during the expo, including Kazakhstan-China cooperation forums in energy and tourism, an exhibition of the Terracotta Army and other cultural and business activities. During the expo period, 24 provinces and cities from China will hold thematic days.
