A rail transport system linking Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei's Shijiazhuang has taken shape, featuring high-speed railways, intercity railways and commuter rail lines across the region.

Over the past five years, the railway sector has implemented a strategy for the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, with focus on building a one-hour or half-hour commuting circle among the cities.

New ring trains have been added in the region. Ring trains which can run up to 2,898 kilometers one way have been launched to, link the major stations at prefectural and municipal level such as Xingtai and Hengshui stations in Hebei Province along with the lines in Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang.

Ring trains with shorter distance have also been opened, such as the line from Hengshui to Qinhuangdao, which stops over in Tianjin and Tangshan, and the line from Handan to Zhangjiakou, which stops over at Shijiazhuang and Beijing West Railway Station.

Additionally, ten pairs of commuter bullet trains have started operation between municipal high-speed railway stations in Hebei Province and Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang. Over the past five years, railway authorities in the region have completed 12 major projects. This year the railway sector continues to work on projects that will make the region more interconnected.
