The second China-Africa Investment Forum will be held on Nov. 27 and 28 in Marrakech, Morocco and is aimed at strengthening the relations between Chinese and African businesses, and to promote the development of business partnerships, particularly in the industrial sector.

Over 500 respected figures from politics, business and academic fields from China and African countries will attend the event to discuss topics including the Belt and Road Initiative’s potential role in Africa’s economic development, Chinese enterprises’ stakes and prospects in African countries’ industrialization process, as well as innovative financial services’ development potential in Africa.

The forum is expected to promote the mutual understanding of Chinese and African businesses, help them identify the most profitable markets and sectors, and promote sustainable commercial, technical and financial partnerships.

In 2009 China became Africa's largest trade partner and the scale of bilateral trade has expanded rapidly ever since. This year, trade between China and Africa reached US$85.3 billion in H1, surging 19 percent year on year.

Located in a pivotal position between the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Morocco is seeking to become an attractive destination for international companies. In 2014, it launched an industrial acceleration plan to boost its national economy and create a new, modernized industrial sector which attracts great interest from Chinese enterprises.
