According to the report presented at the summit, the first half of 2017 saw a moderate increase of 2.7 percent in the fast-moving consumer goods market (FMCG), which had been negative year-on-year. For consumers, online shopping sales soared by 28 percent, as the traditional retail industry entered a transitional period. Young people were more willing to buy items for entertainment and socializing purposes, the report revealed.
During the summit, Xue Jijun, chairman of the board and president of China International TV Corporation (CITVC) and Dai Zhenyu, the deputy director-general from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) delivered speeches.
