The 14th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) opened in Nanning, capital of Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sept. 12, 2017.
Focusing on "Co-construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, promoting regional economic integration through tourism", this year's CAEXPO and CABIS aim to enhance friendly cooperation between China and ASEAN on all fronts as the latter celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Chinese Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli, delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony on Tuesday morning, said CAEXPO and CABIS were playing a crucial role in building a China-ASEAN community of shared future and in advancing regional economic integration.

China has been valuing ASEAN as the priority in its policy of enhanced diplomacy with neighboring countries and an important partner to jointly build the Belt and Road projects.
Especially, it stands ready to join hands with ASEAN in building a closer community of shared future and opening a new chapter in development of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
This year marks the beginning of the second round of implementation of the Country of Honor mechanism, and Brunei Darussalam has again emerged on top. A series of forums as well as trade and investment promotion events will be held to deepen the cooperation between China and Brunei in a wide range of sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education, culture and tourism.
Kazakhstan was invited to be the special partner for the expo, the first time the CAEXPO Special Partner mechanism has been open to countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
This year's expo, ending September 15, the main venue of which covers a total exhibition area of 124 square kilometres with 6,600 booths.
