Asia should stay open and inclusive to the world and among its members to achieve sound and sustainable development, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday.

Countries in Asia should enhance their mutual trust, draw on each other's strength, promote inclusive growth, maintain communication and coordination on major international and regional issues, Li said while delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2012 annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).

Openness has been vital to Asia's fast growth in the past, which now contributes over 30 percent to global growth, and it will continue to be crucial to the sustainable development of Asia, according to Li.
