IMF Chief Christina Lagarde arrived at the BFA Hotel on April 6 to attend the Boao Forum for Asia 2013 Annual Conference, which runs from April 6 to April 8 in Hainan, China.

Earlier on Thursday, March 28, IMF spokesman Gerry Rice told reporters that IMF Managing Director Christina Lagarde would be traveling to China's Hainan Province from April 6 to April 8 to attend the Boao Forum at a regular news briefing (http://www.imf.org/external/np/tr/2013/tr032813.htm), according to the IMF website. He added that Lagarde would meet with government officials of China and other Asian countries during her stay.

The Boao Forum for Asia is one of Asia's biggest annual economic meetings. The theme of this year's conference is "Asia Seeking Development for All: Restructuring, Responsibility & Cooperation." There will be 54 sessions altogether, including the Opening Plenary,18 sub-sessions,15 roundtables, six closed-door meetings, four luncheon sessions, two dinner sessions, seven dialogue sessions and one evening talk. The sessions are different in size. More than ten state and government leaders from across Asia and other regions will be invited to the three-day forum, which will begin on April 6 in Boao, a coastal town in southern China's Hainan Province.
