2011 Summer Davos opens in Dalian

The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2011, also known as the Summer Davos, opened in Dalian City of northeast China's Liaoning Province Wednesday.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao called for promoting sound, sustainable and quality development in a keynote speech at the opening of the Summer Davos.
He said that the theme of the WEF's meeting represents people's shared desire for robust, sustainable and balanced economic growth.
People in China remain clear-headed and are firm in confidence despite varied views on China's economic development, Wen said.
The forum, scheduled on Sept. 14-16, has attracted some 1,700 participants from 90 countries and regions.
