HK Finance Secretary to Attend Boao Forum

Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Henry Tang will attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2007 to be held in Hainan Province on April 19, according to a press release of the government website on Monday.

 

Tang will lead a delegation of the government officials and local business leaders to attend the conference which is themed "Asia Winning in Today's Global Economy - Innovation and Sustainable Development".

 

Tang will arrive at Boao on April 19 afternoon and will host a reception to be organized by the Hong Kong government.

 

He will attend the opening ceremony and the plenary session on April 21 morning before speaking at the Hainan-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Interflow Seminar.

 

Government officials accompanying Tang to the Forum include Joseph Wong, Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology and Peter Leung, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs at Guangdong.

 

Tang will return to Hong Kong on April 21. During his absence, Hong Kong Secretary for Economic Development and Labor Stephen Ip will be Acting Financial Secretary, the press release said.
