The Wall Street Journal has highlighted China's progress over the past decade, but also says China's economy is facing more conflicts and challenges. The 18th CPC National Congress is held at a critical time of China's development, and it's crucial that the country can maintain healthy economic growth through reforms.

The Italian National Associated Press Agency also cites the extraordinary development China has made during the last 10 years, despite all the headwinds. It says the 18th CPC National Congress is an important meeting for China to implement socialist modernization.

Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun points out that though China has become the world's second largest economy, the government still faces difficulties on many fronts in its economic and social transition. The newspaper writes that Chinese leaders will continue to undertake reforms in order to promote China's steady development in the future.
