Rare Fossil Dinosaur Tail Marks
Adjust font size:

Scientists call dinosaurs' footprints precious fossils, but regard their fossilized tail marks as marvel.

Fossilized dinosaur tail marks were discovered for the first time in Erdos where many fossilized dinosaur footprints had been discovered. This was a very rare event. The lengths of these marks range from 46cm to 164cm and the widths of the fossils vary from 3cm to 15cm. The marks were clear and complete. This was the first time such precious fossils were discovered since the fossilized dinosaur tail marks were found in Yuechi, Sichuan Province.

Dinosaurs left tail marks when they walked or rested. They offer rare close-ups of the dinosaurs' tails, from which we can study the shapes of dinosaurs' tails and further explore how dinosaurs walked.
