21 hotel projects under construction in Macao in Q2

By the end of the second quarter of this year 21 hotel projects were being constructed in Macao, decreasing by two in comparison with the preceding quarter, according to the figures Monday released by the Special Administrative Region's (SAR) Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT).

The figures showed that another 35 projects were being examined by the SAR government, which means 56 hotels were scheduled to be built in the near future, providing about 34,400 guest rooms and over 16,700 parking lots to the sector.

Among the 21 projects under construction, six have less than 100 guest rooms each, eight can provide between 100 and 1,200 rooms, and five projects were scheduled to be built into properties boasting of 2,000 to over 6,000 rooms, according to the bureau.
