Cher Wang, chairwoman of Taiwan's HTC Corporation

As co-founder and chairwoman of HTC Corporation, Taiwan's leading tech business, Cher Wang has overseen the development of smartphone and mobile technology, partnering with Google and Microsoft to create globally renowned products that are compatible with the software giants' respective Android and Windows platforms.

Alongside her husband, Cher Wang is also chairwoman and cofounder of VIA Technologies, which supplies PC processor platforms. She would rather not be pigeonholed as a billionaire (which she is). She'd rather talk about the other thing she is one of technology's most powerful executives, certainly the most influential woman in wireless.

Cher Wang was born to be in business. Her late father, Y.C. Wang, was the legendary founder of Formosa Plastics, the Taiwanese petrochemical conglomerate that now has about 100,000 employees.
