Council The TWAS Council, elected by members every three years, is responsible for supervising all Academy affairs. The TWAS 20th General Meeting (Durban, South Africa, 20 October 2009) elected the Council for the period 2010-2012.

R. Murenzi resigned as Vice-President for Africa after being appointed Executive Director of TWAS in April 2011. K.E. Mshigeni succeeds him as Vice-President for Africa, while R. Crewe succeeds K.E. Mshigeni as Council Member.
