Death toll rises to 186 in SW China quake

As of 15:00, 186 people have been killed and 21 others went missing in the 7.0-magnitude earthquake which hit Lushan County of Sichuan Province Saturday morning, according to the emergency response management office of the provincial government.

11,393 people were injured, including 968 in serious conditions. 

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Lushan County of Sichuan Province at 8:02 a.m. Beijing Time (0002 GMT) on Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

A total of 1,339 aftershocks have been monitored in the strong quake-hit Lushan County as of 12 a.m. Beijing Time Sunday and three of the aftershocks were measured within a range of 5.0 to 5.9 magnitude, authorities said.
