Having learned his lessons from nuclear incidents, mankind has greatly advanced his ability and technology to peacefully manage the use of nuclear power and sharply decrease the number of accidents in the sector, propelling a constant expansion of the nuclear energy industry. By the end of 2012, the world has a total of 435 fully operating nuclear power reactors with a combined capacity of 374.108 million kw; 65 reactors with a combined capacity of 67.139 million kw are under construction. China has 17 reactors operational with a combined capacity of 14.76 million kw, and 28 more are under construction -- with a combined capacity of 28.30 million kw.
