Title: The Chinese Wisdom of the Belt and Road Initiative

Abstract:

By enhancing integration within China, the Belt and Road Initiative promotes modernity in countries along the routes and highlights inclusive globalization. It reveals China’s wisdom and responsibilities, from its name to its core philosophies. Chinese wisdom is embodied in the project’s guiding principle of “jointly building through consultation to meet the interests of all.”

It moreover showcases China’s philosophy of “the unity of knowing and doing”; in China’s moral principle whereby “to achieve success, one should let others succeed as well”; in China’s strategy of aiming high; in China’s tactics of connecting the East and the West by land and sea routes; in the China model of “revolution—national building—reform and opening up”; in China’s method of “taking into consideration the interests of all concerned”; and China’s blueprint that emphasizes interconnection.

By carrying forward the guiding principle of the ancient Silk Road in the 21st century, the Belt and Road Initiative aims to bring it to a higher level of building a community of shared interests, responsibility, and destiny. Moreover, it seeks to integrate the Chinese dream and those of other countries by combining Chinese and global wisdom. The initiative focuses on the principles of win-win, sustainability for later generations, and localization.
