A total of 1,310 job vacancies were on offer at a job fair held in Jiugong Town of Beijing’s Daxing District on Nov. 29. The vacancies were provided to people who lost their jobs during the city’s ongoing safety checks. 

It was the second job fair in a week on the back of the one held in Xihongmen on Nov 27. The two job fairs had a combined 1,800 job vacancies.

A total of 176 types of jobs were on offer by 43 companies in the fair -- ranging from project manager, human resources supervisors, accountants, electricians to cashiers -- including 15 from Yizhuang Economic Development Zone, according to Li Hualong, deputy head of the Daxing District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

The companies present at the job fair are required to have standardized management, offer employee accommodation, and provide vocational training.

Liu Ying, 43, formerly a toll collector with experience in security work, filled in an application in the fair after he was told by a company that they will provide free training. 

A consulting desk was also available at the fair to provide employment advisory services, including introductions to public service agencies for employment and guidelines for the usage of the online employment service platform.

For those without enough savings and are willing to return to their hometowns after the safety checks, local authorities will pay for their traveling expenses back home. After checking with the temporary aid group their identities and real conditions, those in need will receive help.

For those who want to stay in Beijing more job fairs will be held in Daxing’s Yinghai Town and Beizang Village in the following week. Job seekers can get information through social security agencies or by checking with the websites or WeChat public account of Daxing employment.
