Police in Baoshan city in southwest China's Yunnan Province have caught two drug traffickers transporting drugs hidden in fake ore.

About 25.6 kilograms of drugs, including heroin and methamphetamine, were confiscated, local police said Saturday.

Earlier this month, the two men, who had been frequently travelling near the border city of Lincang, caught the attention of local police.

An investigation showed that they had been buying drugs in the border region and hiding them in fake ore to transport to other cities.

On Dec. 7, police found suspicious fake ore in a vehicle in Cangyuan county in Lincang. A total of 40 pieces of heroin and 20 packages of methamphetamine were found.

Further investigation is underway.
