In addition, a total of 33 industry parks and culture companies were also named as the sixth batch of cultural industry model bases during the conference.

In 2016, the added value of the cultural industry in Shaanxi Province was 80.25 billion yuan (US$12.35 billion), accounting for 4.14 percent of its GDP and ranking the 14th in China. This added value was expected to reach more than 90 billion yuan in 2017. The growth rate of Shaanxi's cultural industry has been much higher than the growth rate of its overall economy.

The list of the first batch of cultural industry demonstration parks named at the conference include the Qujiang 369 Internet Innovation Base, the Shaanxi Animation Industry Platform, the Old Steel Factory Design and Innovation Industry Park, and the Jinghe New City Cultural Industry Demonstration Park.

Liu Kuanren, director of the Department of Culture of Shaanxi Province, said that the province's advantages of cultural resources should be transformed into the advantages of the cultural industry through these cultural industry parks and other related projects.
