New analysis by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the Center for China and Globalization suggests Sichuan's capital, Chengdu, has become the third most popular city in China among young people looking for work, behind only Beijing and Shanghai.

The survey has found that Chengdu has become the most sought-after city for work among those born after 1995, overtaking Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Monthly salaries in Chengdu rank 6th nationwide, with people earning an average of 6,859 yuan per month.

Over 100,000 graduates with a bachelor's degree or above chose to find work in Chengdu this past year.
