Tibet takes measures to promote employment

Tibet's Local government has taken series measures this year to help graduates find jobs or start their own business, Tsring Dakyi, Vice Director of the Management Committee of Hi-tech Zones of Lhasa said in an exclusive interview with China.org.cn.

Lhasa has achieved great success by turning its attention toward mass entrepreneurship and innovation, ideas encouraged by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the Summer Davos Summit in 2014.

In 2016, Lhasa Hi-tech Zone established a new-type service platform named N. Makers Space with an investment of 250 million yuan, aiming to provide a better entrepreneurship environment. The zone has helped 59 start-ups and project teams, including 15 enterprises found by Tibetan graduates, which have hired 196 employees. 

Tsring Dakyi said, "Longda Media, a start-up built by Tibetan college students, came into N. Maker Space in 2016 and to this day, still enjoys free rent, electricity, and water."

Longda Media now has over 100 employees, both fulltime and part-time, 90 percent of whom are college graduates. It has played an important role in addressing employment issues, according to CEO Zasidenzu.

In 2018, Tibet plans to invest 2 billion yuan to establish a fund to promote employment.
