The 3rd World Philanthropy Forum concluded in Shanghai

On Sept. 6, 2018, the 3rd World Philanthropy Forum co-hosted by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, co-organized by the China Welfare Institute and jointly organized by Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was successfully concluded in Shanghai.

On September 5, the opening ceremony and the high-level dialogue of the "Leading Sustainable Development through Education" were held in the morning, followed by 3 high-level dialogues of "Co-building of Global Health Partnerships", "World City 2050" and "Vocational Education and Youth Development":Integration of Successful Cases under the topic of "Vocational Education and Youth Development" in the afternoon, during which the keynote speeches of "Successful Vocational Education and Training" and "Opening the World through Education: Hult Prize – From Student to Social Entrepreneur" were separately presented by Anthony Mann, Head, the OECD's Vocational Education and Training and Adult Learning Team and Davina Hult, President, EF Global Classroom Foundation, Family Member, EF Education First. 

on the morning of Sept. 6, distinguished Chinese writer Leung Fung-yee, Anita, was invited to give the keynote of "Promoting Outstanding Chinese Culture, Cultivating Future Leaders" during the session of "Arts &Humanities and Philanthropy". A dialogue was made among some guests with the theme of "Intelligent Humanities, Philanthropy Inheritance and International Cooperation"; Focusing on the "Global and Regional Poverty Eradication and Governance under the New Era", Liang Xingxin, Vice President, China Association for Non-Profit Organization, President, Zhejiang Federation of Social Organizations and Nicholas Rosellini, UN Resident Coordinator, Resident Representative, UN Development Programme in the People's Republic of China gave the speech of "The Responsibility of Social Organizations in Public Assistance and Charity" and "Poverty Eradication and Development in the Era of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the Role of Global Governance", followed by the Dialogue of "New Era and New Pattern——The Latest Phenomena about Poverty in the Globe and the Region, and the Best Ways to Respond to the New Challenges and Opportunities of Poverty Eradication". 

In the session of "'The Belt and Road' Women's Forum- Women's Growth and Leadership" on the afternoon of Sept. 6, Wang Pei'an, Deputy Director, Committee of Population, Resources and Environment, CPPCC, Former Deputy Director, National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Qiujian, Deputy Secretary General of the twelfth CPPCC Nation, Lv Hailin, Former President, United Nations Women's International Forum, and Pansy HoChiu-king, Executive Chairperson & Managing Director, Shun Tak successively presented the speech and made a Dialogue. In the session of "Resource shared for Sustainable Development", a keynote speech of "Poverty Alleviation Practices and Experiences of Chinese Private Enterprises" was presented by Li Zhaoqian, Vice-Chairman, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, who indicated that private enterprises have been positively engaged in Poverty Alleviation Practices, thus accumulating the sustainable pattern of poverty alleviation and development, followed by the Dialogue of "The Innovative Sharing Mode of Global Philanthropic Resources". Afterwards, Bruce Knotts, Chair, NGO/DPI Executive Committee, the United Nations, delivered the speech of "Thoughts on Global Leadership", in which he pointed out that cooperation is the only solution to the global sustainable development issue, and China plays the leading role in the field of world sustainable development. 

In the closing ceremony, the forum released a series of achievements including the introduction of International Personnel Training Plan, establishment of the Academic Committee of WPF, launching of the WPF Index Research, introduction of Committee of Resource Partners of WPF and Plan of Annual Meeting of Cooperation Mechanism of Chinese Social Work. Deng Lan, Deputy Secretary General, China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, announced the theme of World Philanthropy Forum 2019 and the handover ceremony was held. It was announced that the next "World Philanthropy Forum" with the theme of "Charitable Bay Area, Better Life" will come to Hong Kong in 2019. Meanwhile, the forum also held the philanthropy night banquet of "With Philanthropy, With World", the meeting for the Academic Committee of WPF and the annual meeting of Collaboration Network for Philanthropy and Social Services.
