Seventeen fugitives suspected of engaging in illegal fundraising via an online lending platform were repatriated to China from Thailand on Friday.
Their repatriation is a significant event for police in China, as are deepen their international cooperation with police forces around the world in the hunt for people accused of economic crimes who have escaped overseas.
In a campaign dubbed "Fox hunt", over 40 senior executives of online lending platforms, including yonglibao.com and QMMoney, who allegedly used their platforms to illegally collect funds, have been arrested by police and sent back to China since June.
