Construction is in full swing this winter throughout the 2019 Beijing Horticultural Expo Park in Yanqing district. Since December, interior decoration and exhibits arrangement have started for all exhibition gardens in the expo park, which is expected to start trial operation next April. At that time, greening, operation, security, logistics and transportation systems will all be put into use. The construction of the outer parts of the gardens will be completed by April 15.

The main structures of key pavilions, including the China Pavilion and the International Pavilion took over a year to finish construction. Exterior and interior decoration, electronic equipment installation and outer construction are currently underway. Construction teams from different provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities are all working outdoors while braving the cold to speed up the construction. Following the completion of Jilin Garden in October, the main structures of other nine provincial gardens including Jiangsu, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu, and Xinjiang have also been completed.

For the remaining on-going garden projects, at least half of the construction work has been completed. Since the beginning of construction of the Guangdong project in August, horticultural experts have paid three visits to give on-site guidance in expectation of a full presentation of Lingnan features, and has completed 90 percent of its total work within three months. For the Zhejiang garden project, a design team is supervising the whole construction process, and renowned experts in the fields of ancient architecture and landscape design are observing and giving advice, aiming to integrate the landscape of Zhejiang into the garden. Shaanxi has also integrated multiple cultures and the concept of the Silk Road into the design and construction of the garden in order to display cultural elements of Han and Tang dynasties and greening. From mid-December, all exhibition teams will start to move in and complete display arrangement of flowers and plants as well as equipment trials by April 27, 2019.

The indoor display is a key part of the whole exhibition. For instance, Shanghai's indoor exhibition will show its daily life scenes and urban features in order to demonstrate Shanghai's ecological features and innovative gardening. Fujian's indoor exhibition design features jasmine, Fuzhou's city flower, and banyan, Fuzhou's city tree, and integrates some local architecture features to showcase Fuzhou's horticultural achievements.

The main structure of the public landscape is almost completed except for a few seasonal flowers to be planted next spring. The base course for the main roads in the park has been paved and the construction plan for the roads is finalized. Other infrastructure constructions of heat, electricity, fire protection, and ELV system have been fully completed.
