The upcoming Universal Studios park in Beijing's Tongzhou district has got its official name--Universal Beijing Resort. In the future, two more theme parks will be built in the resort. Meanwhile, the construction of the first phase of the resort has entered its final stage, and a subway station serving the resort will be ready for operation by the end of this year.

In 2019, the resort will continue to push forward the construction of projects including the Universal Studios, Beijing Universal City Avenue, the world's first Universal Studios-themed hotel, and the NUO Resort Hotel. At present, all construction companies have entered the countdown construction phase.

The supporting subway station of the resort as well as two subway lines, namely the eastern extension of Line 7 and the southern extension of Batong Line, are also under construction. The subway station is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2019 and put into use by the end of the year. According to the plan, the subway station will be conveniently connected to Beijing Universal City Avenue.

Construction of other supporting municipal facilities are also underway. They include the Beijing-Harbin Expressway, the greening of the East Sixth Ring Road's protection forest, the new interchange node of the Beijing-Harbin Expressway, and the interchange node of the East Sixth Ring Road. The north hub of the Universal Studios and a bus transit center will also be built in 2019.
